Tractor
Ford 2000 1967 3 cyl.
Just brought home what I was told by the seller was a 1975 2000 tractor, 2WD, 4 speed, 1 reverse, also included a bush hog. I downloaded a 900+ page pdf file which is apparently a scan of a service manual for 2000 - 5000 second model tractors. It includes a breakdown of the serial numbers for those tractors so I checked the SN on my 'new' tractor and it is: C1048215L5. My interpretation of the SN from that pdf file is that it is a 3000, not a 2000 and that it was built in 1965, not 1975. Can someone verify for me from the SN what the model and year is?

This is my first tractor although I learned to drive on a tractor probably 55 years ago. Have always wanted a tractor and found this Ford for $2000 and with 2700 hours on the meter. It's not a parade queen but it does crank right up and the lift seems to work fine. I'm delighted to have found this forum and hope you will indulge this newbie when I ask strange questions. Thanks very much for any assistance you can provide.

Agree based on Ser. No. that it is a 1965. The model number will begin with 210XXX if 2000, or 310XXX if a 3000. The 5L5 is part of the date code indicating a build date of November 5, 1965. There was no data tag under the hood back then so you'll have to examine the stamped codes on the transmission boss aft of the starter.
