Hey everyone, does any one know how a new Holland TN hour meter registers? My dash is cracked and the tach needle cannot get above 500rpm. I am going to fix this, but am curious if my hour meter will begin working again. I've read that hour don't start registering until 1000rpm, some say PTO speed, anyone know the truth? Thanks in advance. Also, while I have the Tractor split now doing a clutch, is there anything I should look for that might be broken causing the hours not to register. The Tractor was bought this way also

Hours and revs only starts when the chargelight go out and it operates from your altenator on the W wire . Check your altenator and you will find tha ....+......B........and with the B a smaller terminal ....that will be your bat warninglight .......then there will be the W terminal

Depends on the tractor's configuration. Some lowspec TN's have cable driven tachs. They register when the engine is turning. Others work as DLTrekkers describes.
