If your using the pasture for horse's then you will need to cut it or end up with spots grazed down to nothing and others with 2 feet high grass. Mowing does help control weeds. If your not going to be feeding anything then put it in CRP and get paid for leaving it to habitat.

You need two machines.

For the 50 acres, a nice TN series.
Anything for the 3 acres of grass.
