T1510/T1520 discontinued?

The T1510 and T1520 are not being discontinued, indeed the lineup is being expanded with the soon-to-come T1530--45hp (gross) and available with 12X12 or hydro trans. It will retain the boxy body style of the TC30, T1510.

As for the new numbers, had I to guess enough dealers/customers raised a stick about the "simple" system (TC30, TC45, et al) switching to something seemingly random that New Holland changed the compact system to something that designated frame size and HP.

To wit, the former TZ25 is now the 1025; the former TC40/T2310 is now the 3040. First numeral is frame size, second numeral is reserved for variation/update, and the last two denote HP.

Frankly, I think the new system is a winner--just wish they had done that from the start.

Now we have the Boomer 4055 and Boomer 4060. Both of which are smaller in every measurable category than the T4020, T4030, T4040, and T4050 that replaced the TN series. It all reads like the work of two committes on different continents. Wait a minute, that's probably exactly what happened. I can hear it now; "I need an oil filter for my 4050". " A 4050, or did you say a 4055?

Point taken.

Allow me to clarify: for compacts, the new designations are a winner, yet confusion can crop up as you noted.

To my knowledge it's just the Boomer series--subcompacts to utility compacts.

Apparently that's where they got the most pushback.
