Has any one owned a Ford 2600? What was your experience and what would be the value of a 1979-80 in excellent condition?

I never owned a 2600, but my Dad owned an 1100 (same series) for almost 20 years with no problems whatsoever. Really a great little machine and he regrets ever selling it. He got $3000 in Missouri for the tractor (2cyl, 4wd, about 1000 hours), disc, plow, and rear finish mower. The tractor was definitely in above-average condition, but did have the associated dings, nicks, and rust spots from 20 years of work. The implements were only in fair condition. Hope this helps.

Fishman is flopping around onshore here. The 2600 and 1100 share nothing except paint color and brand. The 2600 is a later 3 cylinder 2000 with an alternator instead of generator, and not much else different. Great little tractor, except the front axle is not well suited to loader applications. If it has an 8 speed trans, it COULD have live PTO. 4- and 6- speed trans will have trans PTO. All have live hydraulics. Price varies by condition & location, I won't go there.
