1990 Ford 4610 SU

Anyone have an idea of what one of these is worth? Tractor has about 950 original hours and looks great. Drives like a new one and front end is very tight. All original and no aftermarket parts.

also has original paint job that still looks very good. Not perfect but very good as tractor has been garage kept.

Well i thought the same and your partially correct. I've now found 2 1990 tractors that are in fact SU's but heres thing. They were actually made in England through at least 1990 as the serial numbers start with BC. Very interesting. I would like to know too how long they were produced in England. Wish i knew more on pricing as well.

they run from 4000 to 8000 with the one you discrided at the higher end of those figures

Are you sure it's not a 4630? The SU was a short version of the 4610(4630?) utility tractor and had a different front axle as I recall. I'm not sure that it has remotes. Someone like RickB could tell you more about it than I, but I have heard it's not considered as good as the regular utility version and I think it's because of the front axle configuration. Take that with a grain of salt and holler for RickB because he knows a lot about these Fords. If you aren't going to put a loader on it or work really hard it may be right for you.

Yeah i'm sure of what it is as i'm a Ford nut and especially an SU nut. I have a couple myself but didn't realize they were made in England as well. Here's a picture of one of the BC serial numbered tractors i found. Check it the rops as this is the style they used when converting to the 3930. I checked in both placed for each tractor and there are serial numbers on sticker under hood and on chassis that match.

As for the strength of the front end they are definitely weaker and lighter, however for bush hogging and general soil disking this tractor is awesome especially in tight places due to very tight turning radius. Just not going to handle a front end loader very long if worked hard.

That's a sharp looking tractor , I have a 1990 ( 4630 ) made in england with the same fenders .

Ford tractors were assembled in Basildon England both before and after the Romeo Michigan plant was closed following the 1988 production. The vast majority of Ford Farm tractors built between 1989 and 2000 and sold in North America were built in Basildon. Noteworthy exceptions include large Fargo-built 4WDs, Versatiles and Genesis tractors built in Winnipeg, Asian compacts, and Mexican tractors. Some tractors built between 1965 and 1989 were also built in Basildon and equipped for sale in North America. There's nothing special or particularly noteworthy about having a post 1964-British built Ford. If you have a post-1988 3 or 4 cylinder Ford utility tractor with blue paint, it is most likely a British built tractor.
