Re: Dealers Not Ordering 2011 tractors

Are there any tractor companies that sell US made compact tractors? I would look for myself but it would take me a couple years to figure it out
so thanks in advance." Traskblacktail
Assembled here mostly means, final assembly, in reality. The tractors from the orient are shipped here in crates aboard ships, of course. It is easier to ship them without their wheels, tires, seats, rops, etc. When we generally think of assembly of a vehicle manufactured here, we think of starting with a slightly more blank slate.
Does final assembly create a few jobs? sure. The bottom line is that like almost anything else you can think of, we simply do not build "stuff" in the US to the degree we once did. It is what it is.

Re: Dealers Not Ordering 2011 tractors
Nope. As other have said most are assembled here. My dealers son took a factory tour of NH, I believe it was in Georgia?? but not sure. Tractors came in from Japan and all they added was the hood, fenders, rops, steering wheel, fuel tank and tires and wheels and some minor wiring etc that sort of thing
He said it was like assembling a bike from a store when it comes in a box.2006 TC45A

I don't think he was referring to you, doall. The OP used title case and ran his sentences together so that it does make you a bit queasy to read. Title case is harder to read than all caps. I also have a hard time reading bold case posts. I'd rather see people just type lower case and forget caps and punctuation.

Re: Dealers Not Ordering 2011 tractors
I have a Montana (LS 40 hp) and I agree that the seating feels funny. I think your butt is lower so knees are higher and you feel like you are sitting 'in it' as opposed to 'on it'. Kind of similar to comparing a car seat to a minivan seat, the more leg you have under you the tougher you feel (?).
You get used to it... but I would prefer it if my seat was probably one inch higher. Maybe try putting a pillow on the tractor seat and see if that makes you feel better?

Rexman3,
I got the 3040 Hydro and it does all I need it to do with two ranges and dual speeds in each range. Some guys really like the shuttle but I've never owned one. Good luck on whatever you decide to buy.
