Default information on a New Holland T5050

I have been looking at new hollands tractors and I was wondering if anybody could tell me the size of the T5050 model with 4wd and cab or how reliable they are. I have never owned a New holland before so I really don't know anything and the nearest dealer is 100 miles away. I currently own a kubota M100X but I have heard that New Holland was a good tractor and the T5050 is about $15,000 cheaper then the M100X so any information or have had any experiences with new holland tractors I would appreciate your input.

Dealer support is important with any of them and 100 miles is a long way to drive when you're in a bind. But....$15K is a lot of money to save if you're comparing equal specs. See if your dealer will work with you to haul it free while it's under warranty and try the NH. That's what I'd do.

By the way, I looked at Kubotas before I ever bought my first NH and I've never regretted my decision.

I've been a fan of blue tractors for years, and still own two of them. In fact, my TN70A is now the T4030. (basically the same tractor with a new number and a higher price tag) The T5000 series is the next size up.
I looked very hard at the T5000 series NH before I bought my JD 5085M. They are very comparable in size and weight. The cab is what sold me on the JD. I'm a big man, and I really liked the room and comfort of the JD cab compared to the NH. I would strongly suggest that you compare the JD before you buy. It's a huge investment, and you want to spend your money wisely.

My other tractor is a '95 Kenworth.

No sir the 5085 does not compare any way shape or fashion to the t5000. John deeres 6330 and 6430 are comparable. 5085 to t5050 is kind of like bringing a knife to a gun fight.

TD5050 is a good tractor, we've sold piles of them. Its not as feature rich, its smaller physically, and its not power shift. It should be $15,000 cheaper. An M95S or M9540 would be a better comparison, or NH's T6000 series.

I am not sure if the reviews are right or wrong (reviews are subjective so have to take with a gain of salt), but last year the NH T5060 was the runner up and JD 5105M was the winner of the "Tractor of the Year" in that utility class tractor on the tractor.com website. Based on the reviews, these are both comparable tractors; so maybe the 5085M does compare to the T5050 . However, in the end, you cannot go wrong with either one; they are both great tractors.
