ID This Tractor

What does this tractor look like to you? The grill and the gauges tell me that it is not what the owner claims it is. He says Ford 2000, but I have not seen one like this before. The 62-65 had the rib down the center of the hood, but it did not extend onto the nose/grill like this. Someone more experienced please comment.

Looks like a modified Fordson Major, but something does not quite look right......

Additional info is that it is a diesel and it is a 3 speed with hi/low range. He says it runs strong, but I am going to look at it tomorrow. Just want to be prepared.

I think it may be a Dexta.

yup looks like a dexta to me.

due to some dubious naming conventions dexta/2000 and super dexta / 3000 and the smajor/5000 you see some pretty confused people..

The early '64/'65- Fords were 2000 Dexta, 3000 Super Dexta, etc. This one has a 6X2 Trans which makes it a UK tractor and the front axle sez 2000/3000 which would then be Dexta/Super Dexta, but can't tell which.
