Tractor
Kubota BX 1500 and Bolens ST125
I went to several dealers Saturday. Looked at a BX22-1830, Massey2300 and a JD 2210. The TZ was quoted at $11,271 with 60" MMM. The BX 2230 w/ 60" MMM was $10,145 and the BX 1830 was $9,705 with 54" MMM. The JD 2210 was quoted at $13,999 with 62" MMM, FEL and for Saturday only, a box blade. I think the FEL was about $2800-$3000 option for the all the other tractors. All dealers had pros and cons for their units and others. The Massey seems to have rather high hydraulic flow 6.1 gpm vs the NH at 3.9 gpm. The NH guys says the Massey is foaming and burning the hydraulic fluid. The JD and the BX are rated 1 to 2 gpm lower. Not sure what/who to believe. I think I'm at the point where I might just get a large Lawn Tractor and rent equipment when I need. I'm confused....... /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Information versus Massey, check these things out, do your research.

The New Holland TZDA is a deluxe sub-compact tractor
with 22 and 25 gross engine horsepower. The TZ22DA
has 17 PTO hp while the TZ25DA has 19 PTO hp. The
TZDA has a 2-range hydrostatic transmission, a 3
cylinder diesel engine, standard independent rear and
mid PTO, and 54 or 60 in mid mount mowers are
available. The TZ22DA and TZ25DA are offered with
FWD and optional Sensitrak. The TZ25DA has the most
engine hp and PTO hp in the sub-compact industry.

Massey Ferguson offers one sub-compact tractor, the
GC2300, as a 22.5 gross engine horsepower tractor.
The GC2300 has 18.7 PTO hp. The GC2300 has a 2-
range hydrostatic transmission, a 3 cylinder diesel
engine, standard rear and mid PTO, and a 54 or 60 inch
mid mount mower is available. The GC2300 is offered
only in FWD.

NH Sensitrak FWD Option
Benefits
• Automatically engages FWD when tractive conditions
require increased pulling power and disengages
FWD when extra traction is no longer
required
• Automatic FWD saves grass and turf, saves tires,
increases drive line life and decreases drive line
wrap up
Value
• The ultimate in turf friendly control, Sensitrak is a
New Holland exclusive
• Provides traction when you need it, just “set it and forget it.

Massey tractor
No Sensitrak FWD Option
• Operator must decide when tractive conditions
require the use of FWD. Inevitably, turf will be
damaged. Increased wear and tear on tires and
driveline components.

New Holland Operator Comfort
Benefits
• Mower deck cutting height adjustment is located on
the left hand fender, right at the operator’s fingertips
• Deluxe cushioned seat on an incline/decline plane
for optimum visibility and access to controls
• Safety seat switch can be adjusted for operator’s
weight (from 50 to 300 lbs), ensuring safety for
every operator!
• More spacious operator platform
• Controls are color-coded and embossed with their
function
• 12 volt power socket for a cooler, cell-phone, or any
other 12 volt power requirement
• Cup holder for a beverage. Storage bin for gloves,
cell phone, etc.
Value
• Deluxe platform with controls at the operator’s
fingertips results in less operator fatigue
• Better vision results in greater productivity and safer
operation
• Best in class operator station adjusts to every
operator
• Operator’s station is designed for the novice operator

Massey tractor
Massey Ferguson Operator’s Station
• Mower deck cutting height adjustment is located
on the floor. This rotary style adjustment knob can
be difficult to adjust and hard to read while the
operator is on the seat.
• Less spacious platform. Controls are not embossed
with their function, making operation
difficult for the novice operator.
• Safety seat switch is not adjustable for weight
• Seat is on a horizontal plane, which equals poor
visibility relative to the TZDA
• 12-volt power socket is not offered
• Cup holder and storage bin are not offered

NH Automotive Style Dash
Benefits
• Large, easy to read display is centered on the dash
• Tachometer is center display
• Indicator lights include a glow plug indicator, battery
charge indicator, and engine oil pressure
• Gauges include a tachometer, fuel gauge, engine
temperature gauge, and an hour meter
Value
• More gauges and indicator lights mean a more
productive operator and a tachometer provides precise measurements.

GC2300 Dash
• Small display readout
• No tachometer, engine temperature gauge, or
glow plug light
• Remember; “You can’t manage what you can’t measure.

New Holland
Two Pedal Hydrostatic Transmission
Benefits
• Forward and reverse pedals are mounted on
separate shafts so the position and operation of
each can be optimized
• Minimizes pedal effort and provides ease of use for
every operator
Value
• Provides the best performance and most convenient
operation
• Allows easy control of speed and direction

Massey Single Pedal Treadle
• Old technology and awkward actuation
• Not as comfortable as a dual pedal hydro, especially for older or novice operators.

Optional Cruise Control
Benefits
• Electronic cruise control is optional, providing extra
comfort and convenience
Value
• When mowing large areas cruise control is ideal.
Remember, 90% of sub-compacts will have a mid
mount mower!
• Cruise control is an affordable option at $150* List

Massey
Cruise Control N/A
• When mowing large areas, the operator will likely
experience discomfort without the convenience of
cruise control. This discomfort may be exacerbated
by the single-pedal treadle.

TZDA Serviceability
Benefits
• Can check oil without raising the hood
• Can gain complete access to the engine after
opening the one piece ABS plastic hood, which lifts
on a gas strut
• Service interval decal
Value
• Convenient service saves time, more productive
• No tools required for routine maintenence
• Proper maintenence leads to longer life

Massey
More panels to open / remove
• Flip-up hood does not provide access to the entire
engine, difficult to access engine and oil filters, oil
dipstick, and other routine service points

New Holland
Dual Element Air Cleaner
Benefits
• Traps dirt and debris better than a single state air
cleaner
Value
• Longer life, better performance, less likely to need be repaired.

Massey
Single Element Air Cleaner
• Does not trap dirt and debris as well as a dual
element air cleaner
• Does not provide as much protection to the engine

NH Fuel Tank Capacity
Benefits
• A 7.9 gal (29.9L) fuel tank capacity is the largest in
the sub-compact industry
Value
• Longer operating time and less idle time
• Allows the operator to easily drain a full 5 gallon
fuel can into the fuel tank, so that the owner will not
have a half-full can of diesel sitting around the home

Massey Ferguson Fuel Tank Capacity
• A 5.5 gal (21.0L) fuel tank means less operating
time before fueling up
• Unless the tractor is running on fumes, it will be
difficult to empty an entire five gallon can into the massey

TZDA Ground Clearance
Benefits
• Without the mower deck, the ground clearance is
9.1”
• With the mower deck, the ground clearance is 6”
Value
• The operator can box blade, roto-till or perform any
number of jobs with the rear 3-PT while leaving the
mid-mount mower attached to the tractor
• Without the mid-mount mower, the TZ has considerably
more ground clearance than the GC2300
which allows the operator to work in more rough areas.

GC2300 Ground Clearance
• The ground clearance w/o the mid-mount mower
is 6.7”, considerably less than the TZ
• The ground clearance with the mid-mount mower
is 5.9”
• Less likely to allow operation where clearance is needed.

New Holland Lighting
Benefits
• Two dual beam halogen headlights
• Two halogen corner worklights
• Turn signals and flashing warning lights
Value
• Four halogen headlights, powered by a 40 amp
alternator, allow the operator to work in the late
evening or early morning hours
• Better lighting equals more productivity and better working conditions.

Massey Ferguson Lighting
• Two front headlights versus four headlights on the
TZ
• Turn sigals and flashing hazard lights

10LA Loader
Benefits
• Curved boom design fits the contours of the tractor
and provides best in class visibility
• Larger torque tube, rifle barreled grease zerks
• Simultaneous raise and curl valve
• Quick-Latch System
Value
• Better visibility equals more productivity and a safer
operator
• Larger torque tube prevents loader from twisting

Massey Ferguson 2350 FEL
• Dog leg boom design
• Most of the stress on the FEL is located at the dog
leg
• Visibility is poor with the dog leg boom design
Small torque tube.

Check out these areas and I think you will find the NH is a nicer overall package. If your just going to do this once, make sure you take a look at the above comparisons.

If you get a Sub Compact you will want a Loader even if you think now that you dont need it believe me you will find soooo many things to use the loader for you will wonder how you ever got along without one. Dont be confused on the Hydraulic GPM numbers you posted a low GPM for the tz25da this is why

High-output, gear-type hydraulic pumps deliver a total hydraulic flow of 5.6 gpm using a 3.75-gpm implement pump and a separate 1.85-gpm power steering pump. Gear-type pumps are known for providing years of trouble free service.

I got a TZ25DA, 10LA Loader, CM60 MMM, NH105 52 inch Tiller
$14,395 I can drive around with loader , Mower, tiller all mounted on tractor and get lots of work done.

GIT R DONE

Bandit,

I have read many of your posts and looked at your Pictures after I saw your DX24E I went pricing for one of those instead of the NH. I just liked the looks of your unit more then the BUG EYES of the NH. I have 3 Case Dealers within 75 miles and 3 NH Dealers. None of the Case Dealers could get close to BECHARD EQUIPMENT in Champlain NY, Even the other 2 NH dealers I called were at least $1000.00 more. The nice thing is BECHARDS is closest to my home and very nice people. They sell a ton of tractors and have a great reputation with 26 hours on my TZ25DA I have yet to have any problems and have not yet had to test my dealer out on his warranty or service but everybody says they are good eggs. I guess I am lucky in that respect.
