I had mine replace a few months after i bought the tractor new, now the other one is doing the same thing. I should have painted it and maybe it would have helped with the UV light breaking the rubber down.

Armor-All claims to help protect against UV damage, but I think a little spilled diesel would remove the AA. Of course, you could always put more on during your weekly tractor waxing!

It makes no sense to me why these rubber parts are dry rotting. No other parts of the tractor dry rot within a couple years. I sure seems like a supplier issue.

We replace rubber parts and seats all the time under warranty due to weather or ozone exposure. Your dealer should look at his warranty policy again we have never had a claim denied for this type of problem.

Sorry guys if this is a dumb question. I see (read) fuel cup and guard. What are we talking about here. Is this the fuel cap that is having the problems?

It's the flexible rubber around the fuel filler cap that catches overflow if you overfill the tank.

It's only been a couple of weeks after replacement, and guess what's happening?

yes again it's starting to tear must be cheap rubber...
