Default TN65 Fuel Consumption

Does anyone know how much fuel the TN65 uses? I cut about 17 acres this weekend and going to be doing another 6 today. Started to cut with our JD 1209 Moco but that thing is shot. After 3 hours of working on the machine adjusting it, It wasn't going to cut it. So we said enough is enough and went down and picked up a NH 616 6 disc mower. The only one in our area. Man is that thing nice!! Did a little over 12 acres in 3 1/2 hours! I'm needing to know fuel consumption so I can come up with a price to charge people.

Thanks,
Dan

I have a TN 70A and I wish I could tell you. I bush hog for at most 1-2 hours at a time, then nothing for weeks.

Let us know how it goes.

A TN 65 huh.. I'm not real familiar with that machine.. but seem to remember 65 eng / 52 pto hp?

The closest thing i have to compair to that is a ford 5000.. it is 70 engine, and 67 pto.. I use 5g in 3 hrs while running a 10' mower.

I checked it when cutting yesterday. Marked the site glass for the auxiliary tank and then added 5 Gal and marked again so not very accurate but I used about 5 gallons in 3 hours pulling the disc cutter. I was defiantly working the tractor. Especially in 6th gear...

Yes, the TN65 is a 65 engine / 52 pto. I wish I had a little more power. I had it turboed but the turbo started leaking oil into the intake. I took it off but I do miss it. The turbo made the engine run much smoother and cleaner....

I would have expected a lil more fuel economy from that machine...

Emissions compliance and fuel economy are inversely porportional, or so it seems.

I guess so. While my 5000 doesn't smoke.. I guess due to age / technology.. the tn65 will have lower emissions than mine. I'm also surprised the tn65 isn't turbo charged.. that would have helped ( with emissions and fuel economy ) too, considdering the lower CID.. etc

My TN65 sucks around 2 gallons an hour while running my 9' discbine. So your numbers seem pretty close to mine given the fact your only powering the disc cutter and pulling a lighter implement (my TN also has FWA, larger rear tires with liquid and a loader so I am considerably heavier then your setup)
