Default tc33d Tires

I have a 2000 model Tc33D. I am using it to cut soccer fields at my church. It has "industrial" tires. While they are not nearly as bad as real tractor tires, they do leave noticable tracks on the playing surface. Any suggestions on how I could get turf tires without a mega buck investment? Would they lower the tractor too much for the belly mower? I do use it quite a bit for spraying, spreading fertilizer, etc. but nothing that requires any real traction. Any suggestions? Thanks

Dump any liquid ballast you have and lower the tire pressures. Try this before converting to R-3's.

Rick can confirm, but I believe converting to turf tires will require new wheels as well.

You might be able to change the front tires without new hubs, but the rears will require new hubs. Don't use 4 wheel drive, leave the loader off and reduce the tire pressure. And most of all - wait a few days after rain/watering to do the mowing. When I looked into changing from turfs to industrial tires, the hubs were going to cost around $600.00 to due the change. I was able to change the front by finding a industrial tire that was real close to the same size as the turfs.

How low should I lower the tire pressure too?

I will wait for the comments of others, but I see no advantage and possible harm from lowering tire pressures. The possibility of the tire separating from a rim increases with dropping tire pressure. Be careful.

The advantage is a larger footprint and less pounds per square inch of contact patch. That translates into less compaction and disturbance. Rear R-4's can be run as low as 8 PSI and fronts down to 15 or so if there is no FEL present. Many tractors equipped with R-4's leave the dealership with 18-22 psi in the rears which gives a very small contact patch.
