Default Electric tach conversion ford 3000

I would like to know if any body has coverted a Ford 3000 gas 3cyl to electric tach?

If you are talking about a tach like you use in a car it won't work. The car tach only has selection for 4, 6, or 8 cylinders.

You;d have to get a cheap small engine inductive pickup tach and hook it to a plug wire.. they are about 50 bucks minimum.. and run on a watch battery.. kinda cheesy IMHO.

what's wrong with your cluster / tach? you can get new clusters or cables?

I was looking at putting a 10 si alternator on and siplify the wirring and more power for future lights.

more power.. yes...

simplified wireing? no... old harness is still present.. removing it in pieces will be work.

downside is the tach issue.

you could of course get a 10dn alternator with external reg, and a tach drive for a emchanical tach... etc..

more $$ though..
