Ok last night I worked up are arenas and the tractor worked like a champ. Parked the tractor for the night and went to put out some round bales this morning and will turn over fine but wont start. I put a new fuel filter in it and still nothing. I made sure the fuel bowl was full and traced the line going from the fuel filter bowl to a part going into the motor (not sure what its called). I loosened the banjo bolt and there is good fuel going to it there. I then traced the line coming out of that part to the injection pump. I loosened the banjo bolt for the fuel line going into the injection pump and there is fuel there. I went to the injector closest to the front of the tractor and no fuel. The loader is down and its kinda hard to get to the rear injectors and im not sure of the order on how to bleed them. It was really odd that it just wouldnt start after running great. My truck did that and it was the HPFP. Can you guys let me know the order to bleed the injectors and alos any other ideas. Thanks guys.

According to the manual, there is no specific order. It just says to:

Loosen all the injector line fittings at the injectors.

Move the hand throttle control lever to its wide open position.

Crank the engine until air-free fuel flows from each connection, then tighten the fittings to 18-22 ft lbs.

If air is not purged from the system, repeat the above procedures.

Do not crank engine continuously for more then 30 seconds at a time.

Good luck, keep us updated on the results!

You bleed all the injectors at the same time. Fuel will not "back flow" once it passes the HPFP.

So is it ok if I open them all and then crank at WOT? Just double checking.

Roon, I don't think you have a problem with fuel to your injectors. I think you have a problem with your operator presence system (aka seat switch). To test this theory, make sure your parking brake is set and the light is illuminated on your instrument panel. Check the range lever in neutral and PTO lever disengaged; however, the range lever or PTO lever won't let the engine turn over. A faulty seat switch will keep the fuel cutoff solenoid on the back side of the injector pump from energizing. That will not let fuel be pumped to the injectors even though it is coming to the inlet of the injector pump. That solenoid is what shuts off your tractor when your turn off the key. You must be in the seat and have the range lever at neutral and the PTO disengaged to start the engine. If you are out of the seat or the seat switch is malfunctioning, then setting the parking brake will allow the engine to start.

I'd start out by checking that the seat switch plug has not come loose. After that, set the parking brake, range to neutral, and PTO off and try starting. If all else fails, you can jumper 12 volts to the fuel solenoid, but that is a last ditch emergency effort. If you know how to use a voltmeter or have a test lamp, I'd bet that if you tough the wire going to the solenoid, it will not have power. Of course, you could have a problem with the relay that powers the fuel solenoid, but that would be something to check after you find the solenoid is not getting power. If you engine turns over and will not start, my first bet would be on a defective seat switch.

BTW: My manual says, "The vehicle has an auto-bleed system which should exhaust all air if the engine is cranking. The system should bleed with minimum cranking if the sediment bowl is filled with fuel."

I have never had to bleed my fuel system on my TC45D no matter whether I changed the fuel filter or ran out fuel. I just don't think this is your problem.

Yes. The motor will not fire with them open no matter how much you crank.

I was just answering your question about bleeding injectors on diesels in general. Follow Jinman's advice to get your machine running again.

HAHAHA I just loaded the tractor on the trailer with a comealong. I should have come up to the house and checked this before doing that. Nothing better then pissing in the wind. Thanks for your help and you are correct the seat switch was un pluged :mur:

Oh man. . .I'm so sorry you worked so hard on this, but I'm thrilled I could help you find the problem before it went any further. Take a few deep breaths and have a cool one of your favorite beverage. Next time you will know just what to check.

Agreed, I was doing the same. I am NOT a diesel mechanic. I was only answering question he had from owners manual.

To Jinman: Good catch!! When I started using this site, I could see that you are THE MAN! :)
