Opinion on NH 617 Disc Mower

I am considering purchasing a used New Holland 617 Disc Mower and am looking for opinions on this model.

Is the design and engineering solid? Is it considered a dependable and durable model? Any advice provided is greatly appreciated.

G'day Rex 617 is a good machine, the module construction is good as if you have a fault/failure it is confined to one unit and not spread all through the cutter bar. We have several customers with them and the only things we tell them is to change the oils every seaon and the only other thing we sell them is blades. There are two weak points on them i have found one is the mount for the top skirt breaks and the sleeve the stand goes into breaks away both are an easy fix reweld the stand sleeve and slide a heavier sleeve over the skirt mount and reweld. All in all a good honest machine
