New Holland tc30
Can anyone tell me the sequence in adjusting the valves on a new holland tc30?? I called the ford house and they say the clearance is .008 and both are adjusted at same cold....I am lacking the sequence though...can anyone help me?? Maybe with a scan of a repair manual?? Or adjustment sequence??
Thank you in advance!!

I never use a sequence--if the exhaust valve for a given cylinder is fully open(watch the rocker) the the intake is fully closed and the clearance can be set. vice-versa

Ok....this is the deal...my tractor blows black smoke real bad at idle and in throttle...I've changes fuel, added additional fuel filter...I've recently discovered that if I crack the second fuel injector line, all smoke goes away and tractors performance is better...so I assume the injector is bad...I replaced it...same result....so I assume the valves are out of adjustment...they feel fine....one of the may have been a little out but not THAT bad....sooo I take the fuel return line off and clean....I am not sure if there should be any fuel coming out of it but there's not...I still don't think the return is bad but it may be!! Again, the issue is solved by cracking the middle injector line, but obviously I can't let it stay like that....so the second cylinder is either dumping too much fuel or not burning enough....the one thing I haven't done is run a compression test....but with the other two cylinders performing as they should, I can't imagine why the middle cylinder would be bad....help...:)

How about putting #2 injector in #1 and 1 in 2?

OK!! I fixed it...I wanted to let the forum know because I believe in passing the knowledge on.
On the fuel injector pump there are things known as "plungers". On my particular pump, there are three plungers, one per cylinder. Well...I got a wild hair this morning and decided to pull one apart and as I started to pull it out, I noticed that they were held in there with a plate that had oval bolt holes. That signaled me that this was some sort of adjustment. well...turns out that they are!! they are a fuel adjustment for each cylinder...I adjust mine ever so slightly and viola!~!!! FIXED!!! No smoking, performance is better than I've seen yet on this little thing and it starts like a dream!! So there ya go tractorbynet....I hope this helps someone!!
As usual!! Thanks for ALL your input!!

Thanks for the info. I have the same tractor so it may come in handy. By the way, figure out how it went out of adjustment? Just doesn't seem like it should... But hey, I've only had mine a couple of weeks now so no clue :)
