I'm changing all the fluids on the Ford 3000 (not sure of year, 1970's perhaps) that I just bought. My power steering resevoir appears to have ATF or regular power steering fluid in it. I checked with the local dealer who recommended using the New Holland 134G spec hydraulic fluid (same as in transmission and differential). This stuff seems to be rather thick for power steering use. A couple local people I asked said they use power steering fluid because it's lighter and works better in the winter.??? If I don't change the fluid at this time is their any harm in topping it off with PS fluid?

ps fluid works.. atf will work if she don't leak too bad.

134 fluid is the proper spec though.. you can get it at walmart or tsc.. etc.

Power steering fluid is working fine. I've logged about 5 hours since topping off the resevoir and have no problems. Thanks
