FORD 2000 DRAFT control SPRING REMOVAL
Can anyone help me? Can the draft control main spring be removed by simply unscrewing the yoke as I need to replace a broken spring seat - if not how? If reassembly is to screw the yoke back in how do I judge what tension it should finish at as I have no fancy tools etc. Many thanks.

Re: FORD 2000 DRAFT control SPRING REMOVAL
Unless the yoke was installed with some grease or antisieze, they can be hard to remove. they are internally attached to the lift control mechanism so you don't want to torque them externally because you'll damage something internally. Your best bet is to find a manual and see what you have to do to disconnect the inards before you try undoing the yoke.
