Does anyone know the size of the U joint on the 269 baler's PTO shaft? I measured one inch by 3 1/8. does that sound right? When I went to TSC and AutoZone they all seemed to be metric

I went to new hollands site and to the part look up section.
https://webparts.pvassociates.net/cnh/launch.php?DealerID=PVA-9SYXB-FBC3&DataSet=001NHNA

I input 269 in the model search box and it gave 2 choices

Front PTO:

Rockwell PTO standard

item # 7

NH part # 129437

or

NEAPCO PTO

Item #6

NH Part # 47621

Rear PTO:

Rockwell
Item # 7

NH part # 129437

or

NEAPCO PTO

item # 7

NH Part # 47621

It could be a good thing to take the NH part number with you and any partsman worth anything will be able to cross to another brand.

and if they cannot cross it directly...a real parts store will have a catalog (behind the counter for the employee) that will give the size of the NH part so you can match it by size

Here is a NEAPCO pdf cross reference chart

http://www.neapco.com/nA-aftermarket-catalogs.php?pdffile=1

if you look under new holland and see part 47621

it has another number to the right of 1-1875

I believe (I am not 100% sure tho) that this is a standard number for most lines of u-joints.

If you google 1-1875, you find many brands of u-joints with that number

the rockwell number of 129437 has the number 1-2075 to the right.

Thanks for the info. I will track one down today. My baler looks so sad in the field with hay ready to bale and it's broken. It was making some great bales yesterday. I finally got the tension on the bale adjusted. Good for a baler that is over 40yrs old.

Thanks again for the help
