I had to replace mine, in a tc29d, and it is held in with 4 pins in that back and just pulls out. If you have the new one, take a look at it.
so anybody know how to get the fuel guage out of the dash? does it pull out after taking the screw out?
Tcreeley: The easiest way to check your temperature gage is to pull the spade connector off the probe and ground it with a jumper wire to a good ground on the engine. Then turn on the key and see if the temperature gage moves up to maximum temperature. If it only goes part way to maximum or does not move, then it is faulty. If it moves to maximum, then it is probably working fine and maybe your thermostat is stuck open. Temperature probes rarely go bad. More often the gage is at fault, but many times our thermostats also fail.
