I have never liked the temp. gauge on my 1900. You never new how hot it was. I also didn't like just having an idiot light for the oil pressure. I bought a mechanical temp. and oil pressure gauge . The are 2" gauges made by Sunpro. These are cheap gauges but I have always had good luch with them. The temp probe on the new gauge fit in place of the factory sending unit without any adapters. I replaced the factory temp gauge in the dash with the new mechanical gauge. I used a 2" hole saw to cut a hole in the right side of the dash for the oil pressure gauge. I removed the factory sending unit and installed a T in the block and and hooked up the gauge to one side and the sendind unit for the idiot light to the other. I now know I have 40 psi of oil pressure at idle and the warmest I could get the engine in the shop was 165 deg. Every thing worked out good. I wish I would have done this several years ago.
