Stupid question but how do you add oil to a ford 4600 there's no oil cap on the valve cover

Right side of the engine - in front of the injection pump - in the front cover there is a knob - unscrew - pull out - looks like an old boat drain screw in plug.

naa.. that's right at the front timing cover.. you are good.. wd and 4600 gave you good info.
