I was looking the motor and noticed that the vacuum advance line to the distributor was loose. I tried to tighten the nut , but it was tight . however the tubing was loose and rotates inside the nut, and can not be tightened anymore . I loosened the nut and removed the fitting . I found that there is no flare on the end of the tubing and I think there should be .

The nut crushes on the tube, If loose replace the nuts and tube.
Available at the auto parts store.

I got the nut, but no replacement tube. I think I can reuse the old tube.

NH part no. 351112S

I had tried the local auto parts house, no luck. Ended up driving 15 miles to the NH dealer.

Only if you cut the ends off and have enough length.

Yes, unfortunately the tube is bent just above the nut, so might have to track down a piece of 3/16 tubing.

My old one had a big loop in it so length wasn't a problem, it was the 40 years of rust.

If you were handy i would give you my excess, plenty long enough. I planed to mess up the first one.

Scrounged around in the junk drawer of my toolbox when I got home and
I had a piece of 3/16" tubing so I got it all back together and working.

It's a PITA when working on the tractor which is located 6 miles from my
shop and the majority of my tools.
