I need to put new shoes on the front of my 4WD 1310. It has 6-12 Ag tires on the front. They are 2-ply and don't work well with a loader.

The specs on tractordata.com show 6.00-12 to be the proper size.

I've found a dealer who carries both but can't seem to tell me what's the difference.

Can anyone shed some light on this? I don't want to buy a set of tires to find out they won't fit on my rims or rub something.

Thanks,
Dave

6-12 and 6.00-12 are the same size. They are both 6 inches wide and used on 12 rims.

A 6-12 2-ply tire is intended for a lawn tractor certainly not for a compact tractor with a loader. You are looking for 6-12 with 6 or 8 ply. $100 each.

I have to make a correction. It appears that an Asian 6.00-12 is a taller tire than a 6-12 or US 6.00-12. NH specifies a 6-12.

Is the R-1 a Ribbed tire? I need the kind that has the tractor tread like the rear tires.

You think a 4-ply would still be too light?

R1 is a lugged ag tire. The lugs are in a chevron pattern.
The load rating on the tire should be 700lbs or better.

You could probably get away with 4 ply 700lbs rated tire but it’s not worth it. 6-ply tires have better lateral force tolerance. With the way your tires are setup now you would probably wipe the front tires off the wheels if you steered while braking in reverse. The 4ply wouldn’t be much better.

So, I want the 6-Ply 6.00-12's then.

Thanks.

New Holland specifies a 6-12 tire, I would stick to that. The Carlisle 6-12 is 23” dia.
