So this brown crusty stuff is all over the inside of the cap and lip of the tank. It's my only tractor doing this. Thoughts? image.jpgimage.jpg

Someone may and use one of the stop leak products or a leaking engine head gasket.

Rust caused by condensation. Keeping the tank full will help

I thought it was rust. But funny why the 2810 sitting beside it has none of this. I did fill up tank just incase to get as much air out as possible so we will see. Tractor runs great but since it sits a lot I wanted to ask.

Ethanol gas is bad, it will rust any exposed steel. I cured this problem after great expense by only burning marine grade gas in everything except vehicles that are driven daily.

It doesn't matter if it's ethanol gas or not. Sitting a long time without periodically getting splashed with gas from a full tank. It's just rusty clean it up as much as you can without knocking it in tank.
