none yet
I have a 2004 tc29da with 850 hrs on it. When I bought the tractor it came with a single hydraulic remote, I bought a hydraulic top link for it, but when I am using the box blade after setting my top link length the cylinder collapses. Is it a bad valve or cylinder? The loader acts up sometimes until I move the remote lever then everything works normal.

Sounds like you may be having a couple of issues.

First thing to check, with the box blade on the ground, fully extend and retract the cylinder several times.

Then set the adjustment how you would normally have it.

Mark the ram with tape or a felt pen.

Disconnect the hoses at the quick couplers.

Raise the box high enough so that all of the implement weight is held by the 3pt hitch.

Wait 15 minutes and see if the top link extends.

If it extends more than 1/8" in that 15 minutes, you need new seals for the cylinder. 1/4" per hour is what I consider acceptable with the first 15 minutes allowing for a little more for compressing in the hoses. (expanding the hose)

If it does not move excessively, then reconnect the hoses and do the same test and check those results. There is a good chance that your valve leaks some internally, this is very common.

Not sure about your other problem with the loader.:ashamed:

Please let us know your results. ;)

Thanks for the tips. I took the cylinder in to have it tested and the seals were all good. I played around with the valve screw changing it from the 1 o'clock to 11 o'clock positions. It seems to be working a little better. I'm starting to think there is still air in the system. Would that cause my issues?

It normally only takes 5-10 complete cycles to get all the air out. Are you having symptoms of the ram moving quite a bit while in use? Like 1"-3" very quick, as in a second or so.

Yes that is what it is doing. When I extend the ram to lift front of box blade and start pulling the ram will collapse a couple inches.

Are you extending it with the box on the ground, or up in the air? Try feathering the control so that the ram moves very slowly. It sounds like your conditions happen if you make the adjustment with the box raised off the ground, is this the case?

Yes, I set the angle in the air then lower box blade to ground and start moving forward. When I move then the ram collapses almost flat.

As a test, with the box on the ground, fully cycle the cylinder 5 times. With the box on the ground, adjust to the desired position. Try grading and see what happens.

Ok thank. I will try that.i really appreciate the help. It will probably be on Monday when I can work it some more.

its air in the cylinder from box free falling, if you cycle once both ways it should work fine. what's happening is box blade is getting ahead of tractor hydraulics
