Just bought a "new to me" TC40D and noticed the tach isn't marked where to run engine speed to achieve 540 RPM on the PTO. Searched around for some images, but couldn't find anything clearly showing it on a NH or Case with the 2.0 Shibaura. Can anyone find that spec? Maybe on a TC40DA (newer dash)? Or in an operator's manual? Any help would be appreciated. This seems to be a super tractor!

My TC40DA has a small mark on the tach just below the 2500 mark. The Boomer 8N is digital and shows actual PTO RPMs. I run both of mine at 2500 which is a tad over the stated PTO RPMs.

I run mine between 2500 and 2600 as well, gives me a little cushion when I get into thick grass or brush.

Just an FYI in case another owner asks...I found the 540 PRM indicator on my TC40D. It actually is a light that comes on when the PTO is engaged and the tach hits 2450 RPM. The light comes on in the lower right hand of the dash. There is also a "600" light next to it. I assume this comes on when the PTO is over-sped. I'd just a soon have a mark on the tach, but at least NH did put an lighted indicator on there.

The PTO speed indicator is starting to look like a Sharpie line on the tach face ...
