1966 Ford 3000 Diesel
Hi everyone. My tractor got stuck in 4th gear yesterday and it's happened in the past. In the past I would take the shift plate off and take it out of gear and put it back together. So I've always avoid putting it into 4th gear. Well this time, I was curious as to why it gets stuck and I wonder if the end of the lever is worn. see pictures. Should the end be more of a ball shape. Thanks for any replies, Matt. FullSizeRender-1.jpgIMG_8273.JPG

Synthetic grease it. I'm surprised there is no grease on it at all? That's most likely why it is sticking into gear. Plus no grease, means accelerated wear.

Hello IH3444, thanks for the reply. I'll look into getting some grease on the levers. I assumed the fluid splashing around in there, would do the job. So in your opinion, is the end of the shift lever warned down from a round end to what you see in the picture? to me, it does look factory. Thanks , Matt.
