Hi,

I am in need of some advice about where to purchase pieces for the voltage regulator/help identifying what I need. I am new to being in charge of caring for a fleet of tractors. We have a Ford 1700 that had some electrical issues this year and I ended up replacing the wire that goes from the battery terminal to the voltage regulator as it was frayed and a voltage reader demonstrated we were losing voltage along that connection. In the process we ended up snapping the super rusty bolt coming out of the voltage regulator where the wire attaches and is held snuggly with a bolt. I can get the bolt on to hold it down but I figured it may not be the best connection still and I would like to replace the bolt or the whole regulator if cheap enough. I have attached a picture to show the damage. I looked through a few schematics but I want to be sure I am placing the order for the right part.

That's not the voltage regulator. That's the starter solenoid. VR is under the dashboard.

I'd pull the starter and take it to a local starter / alternator shop.

Good luck.
