I have been kicking around the idea about adding a NH backhoe to my TC33. I have been wanting one for quite some time. The problem is I have a 72 MMM which I know has to come off when the hoe and the frame kit are on. Do the mounts for the MMM also have to come off and how much of a hassle is this process? Does anyone out there have any experience with this setup? It seems like one of you guys has always got the answer or at least another solution. I really love this tractor and I also love the MMM. It does such a great quick job on less then level terrain. Any advice or information would be appreciated.

I don't know if the mmm mounts have to come off, but if they do, it's at least an hours work and it involves impact guns, socket extensions, flex extensions, etc. I can't imagine doing it every time you want to use the backhoe, then putting it back on when you want to use the mmm.

The front mounts and lift linkage have to come off. The rear mounts may well have to come off as well. The time and effort involved in the changeover isn't worth it IMHO.

BTW, the reason I know how long it takes to do this is I just did it yesterday. I sold my mmm and the mounts had to go with it. My FEL is currently out of commission until the buyer sends me the four, lower bolts that hold his FEL mounting posts on. The front mmm mount replaces these 4 bolts with longer ones to accomodate spacers needed. I couldn't use the long bolts any more and he couldn't use hid short ones, so we had to swap bolts via the mail. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Wayne I also wanted a backhoe and a MMM when I purchased my TC-40D. My local dealer told me to pick one or the other. I settled on the backhoe and a RFM. The mower cuts well is much easier and quicker to mount and dismount and as a result also easier to service. I only wish that the backhoe was as easy to mount although it's a snap to remove.

Now, just how badly do you still want that backhoe? /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Not that you don't have enogh confirmation on the subject - I too ran into the same problem with my TC40D. The front and rear brackets for the mid mount mower severly interfere with the backhoe subframe. Saw it with my own eyes. I too had to go with a rear finish mower. So far I haven't been disappointed with the quality of the cut but I do mow my contracts on a regular weekly basis. As far as swapping out brackets when wanting to install the backhoe - it would have been a big project on the TC40D.
Good luck,
Peter
