Tractor
new holland 1920, ferguson to35, case 1948 dc, kubota (my brothers but left here as he has no where to keep it)
I checked on the photo page an found someone ( db2 ) posted some pictures of a cab on a new holland TC40DA. My question is can somebody tell positivly what mfg makes this cab? I've checked both curtis and sims as they seem to be the most popular, and none of there pics look like this one. I'm specifically fooking at pic 4 by "db2" his date is Wed Mar 2, 2005. What makes this pic different from the mfg picture of their "Dakota cab" is the blue wedge sitting on the fender, this is not part of the new holland fender and it is not on the pic from sims web site showing the "dakota cab". So if anyone could please help, or if db2 is reading this post please answer. I really like the looks / styling of this cab, so far the best of all that I have seen. Now if it is only in my price range.
thanks
chuck

Hi Chuck1975,

Welcome to the forum. I have a new TC55DA and what i've been told by my dealer is that there are some cabs out there but not any with a/c and his opinion is that you wouldn't want one under those conditions.....I know nothing about them but I'm sure many guys will answer your post and tell you alot about them. I'm going to keep up with this myself because someday when I get all my brush and trees under control so I can have a cab, I'll probably be interested myself.....Good luck on your venture!

This is the manufacturer that you seek

There are lots of pictures at their site.

Chuck: Spent a lot of time on the tractor this year. Originally I thought I might remove the cab for the warm months and for working in the bush, but I chose to remove the door and side window (60 seconds per side) and that was fine. Spent days brushhogging in very hot temperatures and was comfortable as I was always in the shade of the cab and had the fan on. Having a cab allows me to work in comfort in poor weather. If you live in a warm climate you may want to get air conditioning but I found it wasn't necessary for my purposes. If you have any specific questions let me know. As well I'm presently narrowing down a tire chain selection for the upcoming winter. I'll post my choice when I finally decide.

Dave on your cab:
1. what did you order with it , any extras, please list them so i can follow your ideas?
2. could you take some pics of the inside of the cab and post them?
3. did you get the heater or aux heater?
4. what other options did you get or want to get?
5. is there any sotage in the wedges on the fenders and below the cab windows? if so is the storage available only inside the cab or is there a way to get to it from the outside?
6. is the back window wiper needed, and did you get the front wiper with the tank and pump and the same for the back wiper?
7. Did you install the cab yourself, if so how long did it take, relatively easy or 1 big pain?

As far as the ac goes i'm going to do the same and try it first and then add it if it becomes a problem. my concern is that i'm told by the dealer that the ac is mounted on top of the cab so now you have another potiantial problem with more hieght issues.
Thanks for replying maybe it won't be too much to have you answer these few more questions and post some interior pics.
Thanks again chuck

Chuck: I'm travelling right now so I don't have my paperwork with me so from memory:

1. I ordered lights front and rear, rear wiper, and heater. The heater I have uses the motor coolant just as your car or truck does.
2. I'll take some pics when I'm home late next week.
3. No extra storage but there is a tray and cup holder (which I don't use) on the right hand side.
4. Front wiper is standard and I ordered the rear wiper. Wipers are essential although I did not order any tank or pump. Usually, if I need the wipers, there is enough water or melted snow on the windows. There is a two speed fan in the upper right side of the cab, standard I think. This circulates the air and is more than ample to keep all the windows warm and clear even in the coldest temperatures.
7. A local NH Dealer installed the cab although it doesn't look that hard. It does come in many pieces though.

The interior also has an over the left shoulder light and comes with grey carpet for behind and beside the seat. As well the door is lockable. The only thing I would add is exterior rear view mirrors and possibly the 12V accessory plug. The mirrors would be nice for watching behind during mowing etc etc.

I have contacted Jodale Perry by email and they are very helpful and prompt with their response. Don't hesitate to contact them if you need info on how the AC or other options are installed if you want to purchase them later.

A cab does increase the noise level while operating but I always wear hearing protection so I don't have a problem with this. I totally enjoy my tractor with this cab.

I'll try to get some pictures posted when I get home.

Oh.........by the way welcome to the forum. I've found this a great place to gather information and knowledge. Nice folks here. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
