Yup another newbie! i've been looking for a backhoe for the last 6 months or so, and i found just the one. it's getting delivered tomorrow!
it's a case 580 super k, with 7500 hrs and a bad dipper cylinder and bald tires. just what i was looking for!
so, i've been reading, and i think i can rebuild my own cylinder, and if not, i guess it's time to go drop it at everett hydraulics. it'll need new batteries, an oil change, filter changes. anything else i should look for?
as i said i'm a total newbie:
we rented a 580 super m and a dresser dozer to clear the land when we moved our house here, last winter. now i plan to get serious about some yard work, and a backhoe seemed like the tool for the job.
glad to be here, i've enjoyed lurking on and off for the last year or so.
