Hi, I've just joined to simply learn about tractors. I will need to buy something in the next year or two. I'm not sure at all what I need. My goal is to intensively farm organic vegetables in one acre, maybe two if the first one is successful. I'm thinking about the BCS walking tractor, but I also need ditching and wood splitting and who knows what else over the coming years. So maybe I need a "real" tractor. I'm female, single, and 60, but I want to grow enough food to feed myself and pay the rent! I know I'm probably crazy, but nothing ventured, nothing gained...

Lord thundering, what can we find for you?
Some sort of high value crop such as garlic , onions etc. peas, carrots, potatoes, beats etc are a low value crop.
I was thinking of a walk behind rototiller but that could be too rough and jolting.
Self powered log splitters can be towed behind a garden tractor.
Any estate sales around with somebody selling a set of equipment?

Welcome aboard, suzyt!
Are you going to need to move bulk quantities of lime, compost, soil, etc?
If so,find out if the BCS will help in that department.
What's your soil like - rocky, sandy, clay, etc?

:welcome: Welcome fellow Canadian.

Maybe you should find a Farmall A or Super A. Very old tractors but are still used today. A lot of the As around and you can pick them up fairly reasonable and the have many attachments that would be prefect for grown vegtables.
