Greetings,

I wanted to clear up something that has come up in the past few days, and that is the topic of unsolicited e-mail.

As part of our commitment to online privacy, TractorByNet.com has not and will never send unsolicited e-mail to anybody, for any reason.

Sending unsolicited e-mail (also known as SPAM) is against the law, and against the general common business practices and etiquette online, and hence, something we want no part of.

We have built TractorByNet.com through hard work and dedication to creating the leading tractor community... not by spamming people. Any accusations that we have ever sent unsolicited e-mail are absolutely untrue.

Our policy on sending e-mail is as clear as day, and can be found under the "TractorByNet.com Mailing Lists" header on our privacy policy page.

Thank you, Muhammad.

Those of us here that "know" you have never questioned your integrity. It's part of the glue that helps keep this forum together and makes it so much better than just about anything else on the 'net.

Keep up the good work!

That thread about the unsolicited e-mail sure did make me wonder. I've read and posted messages on the CTB as well as this forum. I certainly agree there's little comparison between TBN and CTB, but I've received personal e-mails from both forums for a variety of reasons and from a number of people, but never received any unsolicited or offensive e-mail messages from anyone on either forum.

Wish I could say the same for the folks who daily try to sell me pornography, viagra (and a variety of other stuff), life insurance, vehicle insurance, new mortgages, personal loans, software, and goodness knows what else./w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif

Wish I could say the same for the folks who daily try to sell me ...

I hear ya, Bird. I just got back from a weekend at the property, and I found 47 new email messages waiting for me. Every blasted one was an unsolicited spam-type advertisement for the same kind of crap you just mentioned, and more. /w3tcompact/icons/tongue.gif And to make it all the more perverse, several of them were dedicated to getting me to ante up for my very own mass emailing database. /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif

During the week, I get up to 50 such emails a day, but I have never once received an unsolicited email from TBN or any other source even remotely linked to TBN in the 20-some months I have been a member here.

If ever there was a safe haven from spammers, this site is it.

I too get this SPAM crap /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif at home - not at work 'cause they have something called a "Spam Filter" on the corporate e-mail. I don't know much about it but I do recall a few folks on this board confessing to be computer junkies /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif. Has anyone heard of, used, recommended, downloaded (preferably free but I would be prepared to pay a few buck to get rid of this junk) any type of filter that actually worked?

Harv, dourobob & Bird, Did you ever try to unsubscribe to any of these email? At the bottom of the email most times is an unsubscribe button or link. I tried to do about 25 of them one day. I got about half back as no Email address like that could be found. And I swear the other half put me on more lists. These people are very sneaky. I have no doubt that NONE of this spam comes from here. Its great, the way this forum is ran, and no where is your Email address displayed unless you want it to. Kent

Never reply to the "unsubscribe" email site. This only confirms your address as being valid, and will increase your mail. See the thread **** email for some good suggestions.

I did try the unsubscribe and, just like it says here, I got more crap than before /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif. Guess we may have to upgrade to IE 6 and filter from there. I can't get rid of the e-mail address 'cause my wife uses it for marketing her B&B business.

Thanks for the advice and the web site for Anti Spam.
