Default TBN questions

Something seems to have changed when I navigate the TBN forums. First of all, the Windows phishing filter is constantly working when I am moving around the forums greatly slowing things down. Secondly, after I view a picture and return to the thread, I am sent back to the first post instead of the post that contained the picture causing me to have to scroll back down to the post where the picture is located. Is there anything I can do to alleviate these problems. Maybe I need to change settings or something. Hopefully or moderator or someone else can set me straight.

Your second problem started when TBN did a major upgrade quite a while ago...it has been discussed a lot. The best work-around for it is to right-click on the picture and select "open in new tab (or window)"

Can't help with problem #1

The reason you are taken back to a different place on the page is because you viewed a thread that jumped you to a new post. For example, if the title bar has a # sign followed by a number at the end of it (#86902 for example) that means when you click back, you will be taken to that post regardless of where you were before.

It may seem that not all threads you click on will behave this way, because if you go to page two of a thread and then click an attachment link, you will be taken back to the proper place on the page.

As for the Windows phishing filter... I don't know much about that but we do utilize third party scripts and codes to serve advertising and that may be why your filter is slowing things down.

While in Internet Explorer, Click on "Tools" in the tool bar at the top of the page and then select "Internet Options". A new window will open with tabs across the top. Select the "Advanced" tab on the far right. Scroll down to the "Security" category (yellow colored lock icon). In the security section you should see some Phishing Filter options. Select "Turn off automatic website checking". Then select "Apply" then "OK". The window should close, and your done.
