Default annoying redirect

whenever I visit a page on this site from a browser that is not logged in an annoying (ad nauseam) pop up appears asking if I want to join...

what makes is even more annoying is when the pop up is closed the the #$&*@%^ page redirects to the main page and I lose the page I was trying to read...
The same thing happens if I use a search engine and it directs me to a tractorbynet page...I get the pop up then it redirects and the page with the information I was searching for is redirected to the main page...this is poor design IMO

Because I often use a browser that does not accept cookies (I hate big brother)

more importantly...what about non members that use search engines to look for tractor related questions? Say Google, Bing or Yahoo directs them to a page (on tractorbynet) that has the information they are looking for...BUT this annoying pop up appears and if they close the pop up the page redirects and they have to go back to find what they were searching for...a PITA

I'm a software engineer and a web application developer...I mostly code using php and python as well as a few other scripting languages...I'm also fluent with SQL...I make my living off web sites not that much different than this one...

IMO, annoying non-members by redirecting them away from what brought them here (search results) in the first place is simply not good policy from an owner/developer's perspective...

maybe the owner here is satisfied with the growth rate and membership but most of my peers deem search engines as paramount to their continued success and would not do anything that would steer a user away from what they sought...My only intent of bringing this up was to make something more attractive and redirecting a user away from what they searched for does just the opposite...

obvioulsy if the owner here was not interested in user feedback they would not provide the space to do so...The pop up serves a purpose but what good does redirecting the browser to another page do? IMO the most important objective of any web site is appeasing visitors and providing them with the content they are interested in...taking them away from that content serves no purpose IMO

So calling out the owner in public, using $%^#!! symbols in your post and calling it a poor design instead of just sending him a private message was just a professional courtesy, right?

you even quoted the post yet you accuse me of two things that I did neither of...I did NOT use any symbols and I did said nothing about a poor design...

according to the forum directive cited directly below the title "feedback" is the following:
Quote:
Post any comments or questions, or report any problems with the forums here
what's your problem?

You may use the noscript plugin with firefox to disable that popup if you'd like.
