Re: Darn Spammers. F-4 Fantom
I would have to agree, I just scan all forums in today's posts. and this guy practically fills up the first page with his stupid click here spam,. With a come on headline about something we might be interested in like Phantom 4 or a M1911 or something. I would hope the mods could block this spammer.

Re: Darn Spammers. F-4 Fantom
Hi all
What the admin can do depends a bit on what access he has to the server and how flexible this forum software is.
1. The spammer prob has an IP address that does not change much. That IP or a small range can be blocked for a few weeks. Later it would need to be unblocked as it will eventually get allocated to someone else.
2. Perhaps this software can also stop anyone with a similar name joining up for just a few weeks until he moves onto another forum.
3. Or could admin pass his IP address onto the CIA and they can use geolocation and a drone to take him out - I don't think that's too bad for spamming this forum :-)
Yeah I just click the report spam thing once a day if I see his posts.

i also reported it as Spam. The OP's opening always involved info related to the Military. Several times he posted in regards to the Beretta, aside from the usual aircraft info. Most of the times his threads were repeated 3 times, but one time he posted 21 times in succession.
The PUPIL who does not surpass his Master, fails his Master.

Re: Darn Spammers. F-4 Fantom
Hi all
It's actually nothing to do with military interests. The military text (it could have been anything) just is a way to hide that he is trying to insert links into the post. There are always one or two links below his post. That boosts up the number of sites (like TBN) that have a link to the advertisers websites and so boosts their Google or other search engine ranking. Fuji what-ever-his-name is getting paid to join up and post for every link that he inserts. Another way would be to complain to the companies he advertises for if they are in the US.

These questions should not be assessing our students’ ability to decipher convoluted language. Instead, they should be assessing deep understanding of core concepts.

Re: Darn Spammers. F-4 Fantom
I must have not been on when that spammer was posting, but will keep an eye out for them. I hate spammers. I am so glad I installed askismet on one of my web hosting forums as it won't let most spam posts through. It denied 12 spam posts today and banned the user automatically.
I still need to install the askismet plug in on my webmaster forum, which I think I will be doing in a few moments as I've had 3 spam posts on it to remove today.
There was one spammer who posted on my web master forum with some great info on seo (search engine optimization.) I kept his post and removed the spammed link that led to viagra pills. lol Then I banned him saying your post was kept on the forum but your link removed. Thanks for the great info. lol
