This redirect to viglink.com when clicking on posted links is a pain!

Why, what makes it a pain?

Well you click on a link that someone has furnished to help others look at something and the redirect hijacks it so you don't go where the poster intended. WHY WOULD PEOPLE WANT TO BE REDIRECTED?

The link takes you to the same link that was originally posted.

I must be missing something then because when it happens to me it takes me to a page asking if I want to compare prices on similar items. It doesn't happen every time. I just clicked on a link to a Fiskers 28" Hookeroon and it went straight to the product. This was posted in this thread.

I am not sure if it is a redirect virus in our computers or in the posters. But it has happened to me today.

Seeing as the forum administrator is defending it I assume it is coded into the forum somehow. My thinking is it has to do with links that are not directing forum members to forum advertisers.

So here is the screen shot of where it goes if you click on a link to Agri Supply. In the past I would just close the tab but now I see you can click to continue to the link provided. I understand that bandwidth is not free and the site depends on advertisers to exist. I just think this is the wrong way to go about it. I can run no script and avoid it but that limits the forums normal function so I don't use it. I already see all the ads in the sidebar and don't think I should have to click twice to get to something someone posted as a help to others.

Why, what makes it a pain?

1) It's not the intended destination.

2) When it pops up, out of the blue, how do we distinguish this from a virus or some other problem ?

3) "Yeah, that's where I want to go", Click........ pretty much how I'd write the code for a virus activating link....

4) Any page displaying strange behaviour like this, I immediately close.

5) I don't/won't hangout on Push sites.

Funny thing was after I posted the screen shot the rotating banner ad at the top of the forum was advertising Agri Supply. Go figure?
