TC Pricing and Selection

I haven't posted before but have read the posts with great interest. I went today and my wife and I tried out the TCs.
The quotes I had received were:
TC25D with Super Steer, R4s with ballast added in rear, 7308 FEL with Heavy Duty Bucket = 16250
TC29 with Live PTO standard transmission, R4s rear loaded, 7308 FEL w HD Bucket = 14990
TC29D same setup as 25D = 16725
TC33D same setup as 25D = 17250
They also offered the Bush Hog Razorback 5' rotary cutter for 510 and a rear remote for 250.
I already have a Agco Allis 5670, standard transmission,4wd, 60hp, Great Bend FEL. This second machine is so that during field and clearing operations and such I can have a tractor to supplement the big boy. Also my wife will use it for pasture clearing/mowing and various landscaping and farm activities.
After she drove the TC29 standard transmission and the TC25D, the winner was the TC29. She is comfortable with stick shifts and felt more in control and the super steer wasn't enough to sway her from the TC29.Total Cost TC29 = 14990 + 510 + 250 = 15750.

Just my input to the info that may help someone or serve as cannon fodder for a discussion.

Bill, I got several quotes several months ago on a TC 33 and a TC 35. The price on the 33 was 12,800 and the price on the 35 was 13,700. I hope this helps out.

I went with the TC29 because it has a live PTO which is what I am used to instead of the TC33 with 4 more hp. The TC35 was a little big for my wife to feel comfortable and as she had to approve the latest "toy" (her words) I felt a sense to pick something she could handle.

The prices you are getting sound pretty good. I have a new TC33D that I have had for a couple of weeks now (30 Hrs) and really love. Prices were as follows....TC33D withous super steer, R4 tires, block heater, 68'' hd bucket w/ hook, wheel weights for $17,700, plus 1 remote for $250, and the 757 backhoe for $5000. So far I am very happy with the conveniance of the hydro. Don't forget that the deluxe also includes other comfort/conveniance options such as a nicer seat that swivels, extenadable 3pt hitch links, better headlights, etc. Good luck with your choice. I think all the machines you listed would make a great second tractor!

You did far better than I did. Here was my local dealer's best offer: TC25D with Super Steer $14,500. Add $922 for turf tires, no ballast. Loader, $2430. Heavy duty bucket, $438. Total for a 25D, $18,290 - or $2,040 more for the same setup you were quoted.

I had been ready to buy a Kubota 7500 until my Brother-in-Law, a concrete contractor, told me that I would be sorry if I didn't look at NH before taking the plunge. The price I was quoted was so far above what the 7500 would cost, I left the NH dealer pretty much "resigned" ('bota guys, don't take that the wrong way - please!) to the 7500. Had I been quoted the price you received, especially the 29D, I would have bought the tractor on the spot, even though I don't need it until spring. Among other things, there is no comparison between the cockpit of the 7500 and the 25D. I am a big boy (6'4 and 275) and looking forward to hours of mowing and other work every week, the 7500 is much more like a well made compact car, and the 25D is more like a Town Car. No contest!

So, to wrap this up, may I ask the name of your dealer and your salesman? Where do you live?

Sorry this got long, but your post has renewed my hope that I can purchase a 25D or 29D rather than the 7500.

I pulled the quotes to double check the numbers. A TC25D with a 7308 FEL HD Bucket and R4 tires rear loaded with ballast was 16250. I live in Virginia and the quote was from Theros Equipment Fredricksburg, VA 540-373-9353 and ask for Randolph Kinsey.

I have used the TC29 I ended up buying now and really like the tractor. I have used the Bush Hog 5' rotary cutter I bought with it and was able to mow areas my bigger tractor couldn't get to.

Let me encourage you to buy what fits, and I think you will find that to be the NH tractor. When I was shopping, I looked at Kubota, Deer, and NH. I'm 6'10" tall, and the TC25D/29D/33D fit the best. It was easiest to get on and off (no levers, uneven floor, or other garbage to snag the size 14s on). Also, it had the most leg room, and best seat and steering wheel adjustment range. One other thing, unless all you do is plow a straight line, buy the "D" model with hydro. Yes, you lose some power, but it's far superior for loader work. I almost went back and kissed the salesman for talking me into it. As far as price, I think $16,500 is pretty good for a TC29D, 7308, filled R4s, and $17,200 for TC33D, 7308, filled R4s. Enjoy shopping.

Thanks for the input. 10 acres is a lot of seat time, and I appreciate your advice to "buy what fits." I have 14's too, and it was really nice to get in the saddle of the 25D without kicking stuff on the way. Now, 6'10""? I cannot match that!
