I'll start off saying I got this idea from WoodDawg.

I purchased this 7" screen and camera from Ebay for $110.00.

I installed the camera under the rear overhang of my 45da. After removing the top panel and looking for clearance, I found a good place to mount it. I ran the wire overtop the rear window and into the overhead panel inside the cab.

From there I removed the radio/cd player and pulled the wire out. I used the existing wires there to power everything. I wanted to be sure that this package could not be turned on without the ignition in the on position. So I found the right wires and made my connections.

I ran the wire to the monitor on down to the front right side of the overhead panel and came down to the rearview mirror mount. Since I have two outside mirror's, I decided to take the interior mirror off and use that mount for the monitor.

All said and done. I have only about 6 inches of total wire showing. The wiring got a little tricky. Trying to get them through the overhead panel. Even after loosening the top, It still didn't want to give much.

Just thought I'd share this incase anyone would like to do the same. And I want to thank WoodDawg for the idea! haha

That is way Cool! I want one now. I sure bet it saves on the neck not having to turn around to see how things are going in the rear. Great job!

Great job, looks factory :D :D :D

It will be great for keeping an eye on things without having to turn around. Just don't forget to look where you're going!

So, is it hooked up to a TV tuner as well :D  ;)

Thanks guys! It does save the ole neck. And as for the tv tuner......shouldn't be a problem hooking that up! hahaha Does get boring mowing all that wide open grass.

I got everything off of Ebay. I typed in "rear view camera monitor" and a whole bunch popped up. There are several different styles to choose from. I just went with the cheapest 7" monitor that I liked. haha You can also try searching for "back up camera monitor".

Funny though, There isn't a brand name anywhere. It's just a 7" TFT LCD Monitor and the camera came with it.

It works great when im not kicking up alot of dust. I was moving some dirt last weekend and couldnt see alot going on. But things were very dry.

My Kubota came with two large convex rear view mirrors, one on either side. I bought a rear view camera at Wally World for under a hundred dollars no shipping, handling, or hassle.

It mounts to the lisc plate of a vehicle or any other place you want it. It connects to the backup light wires so it gets power when backing up but you can arrange a switch to power it anytime the ignition is on and you want to look back. IT transmits the signal to the display wirelessly so runing wires is way simple.

I got it to put on the new truck/tow vehicle to monitor hitching and to be sure little people aren't hiding in my blind spot before backing up. It could easily monitor any implement on the tractor or give you a view of your FEL or backhoe bucket or a good view of your pallet forks which I don't have from the tractor.

I will be shopping for a couple more of these and will probably use one with a mag mount/clamp so I can put it anywhere I want on the tractor.

The Wally World unit is certainly worth a hundred bucks but I will take the poster's lead and check eBay to be sure I'm not missing a better deal.

No doubt you got a good deal on your camera system @ wal-mart. But Getting A camera and 7" monitor off of ebay for what I paid was a great deal. I have seen the type system you have. It is good. I just paid a little extra for the bigger monitor and such.

Adam, No doubt a bigger monitor is better but for my use (just backing up to hitch a trailer) it is all I really need. If I get another unit or two I may opt as you did for bigger and your price for the size you got is tough to beat.

I won't be trading my Prius for a new one just to get a back up view on the computer console when I can add on a camera like you did.

I see somebody beat me to the finish line as I'm hoping to wire mine up in the next couple of weeks once I get some more electrical parts and make a switch panel. I have a 10" monitor and wide angle color camera with infrared capabilities up to 15m/45' that I got off of ebay.

My neck and back is looking forward to the relief too!

Nice job Houndstooth, especially since you have a cab and its assorted doodads to work around for your installation. The picture of your cutter in the monitor is what I'm seeking to get with mine too.
