Default Mowing rpm

Hey ya'll!!

New to site, and new to tractor ownership.

I picked up a new TZ25DA a few months ago, but shortly thereafter, my briefcase was stolen with my owners manual inside (new one is on the way).

My question is:

What rpm's should the tractor be set to for optimum cutting?

I have the NH 60" MMM with the tractor.

I run my TC33d at 2500 RPMS when mowing. The PTO doesn't reach the correct speed until the engine is runnig at thos RPMS.

Thanks JBob....

Was kind of thinking that I wasn't running it quick enough, due to the uneven mowing I was getting. Definitely a learning curve involved.

Does your unit have a green light that comes on when you reach proper pto speed?

My 914A manual says the tractor should be operating at maximum engine RPMs. I pull mine to WOT when I mow, does a beautiful job.

Don't know... did not get into the manual far enough before it was gone.

in the guage cluster, where the tach is, the far side of the rpm's was a little symbol that shows pto rpm, or something of that nature.

Never put it over that far (3000rpms), just seemed like a lot of rpm's to be turning... but if that is what it needs.

on my Kubota b2400 the tach has markings for pto speed both rear and mid pto.

If ya look at the "30" (3000) on the tach in the pic... the writing below it says something like "pto speed"

Mine is governed at 2650, that's the max. 3000 would be screaming! Rear PTO 540 is on the RPM gauge at about 2500.
