Hello all. I wanted to start performing my own oil changes and maintenance on my tractor. I searched for a maintenance manual and they go for over $300! Does anyone have guidelines or recommendations? I want to change the fluids and filters, including fuel filter. Additionally, I want to flush the radiator. I've done these things in the past (for example - on my Kubota ZD 28 mower), but I had a much more descriptive manual.
I'd hate to pull the plug on the wrong thing and drain something I didn't want to or not pull enough plugs (in the case of multiple drain plugs). I hope you get the picture. I'd hate to pull the fuel filter and then have issues restarting her. I appreciate any help. As I know there are other TN75A 4wd folks out there that seem very knowledgeable - I appreciate your review. By the way...I love this machine. I am a plastics engineer by trade and bought this tractor to brush hog (new Bush Hog 297 due) and work around the yard (97 acres). I've owned her since she was new and it is the perfect size for me - powerful yet compact enough to be maneuverable around the yard (and in the woods). Thanks! |

As jimg said, the operators manual list everything you need to do and has pictures that show the locations of the plugs and fill points. I was just flipping through mine yesterday as I was curious to the service intervals.
Don't be scared as the TN is a fairly simple tractor to service.

2004 Model and you owned since it was new? How many hours on this baby? Is this the first service interval?
I have some helpful tips for you when you do the maintenance that others here on TBN provided me. Send me an email if you need help

I work on my TN70A. Take it slow, do one thing well at a time and make sure you have the right fluids and filters. When in doubt, ask for help and if needed, post pictures with your questions.

The operator manual does have its problems. The capacities table is somewhat wrong and some of the pics locating parts dont always match what youre looking at. NH could do a far better job on their manuals.
