The summer California had rolling blackouts... I was very popular with my immediate neighbors... I came home one night and found three of my neighbors had plugged into my generator... which isn't a problem and I'm glad to help... since we all look out for each other... I just told them to be aware if they plug in more than the 20amp outlet could handle and the breaker trips... they would all be out of luck. I have never come across a property with home heating oil anywhere inside the city limits... Over 400,000 people live here... but in 30 years in and around the building industry I never even heard of one in a residence. Pacific Gas and Electric started at the turn of the century and before that, many homes already had gas lighting fixtures... I still come across homes with the original gas fixtures in tact... Most pre-war homes in Oakland where built without space heating... other than an ornamental fire place in the living room and many had combination gas/wood fired Wedgewood stoves in the kitchens... I've saved several of them from the scrap heap and they are very well built... |

Is there no exemption for small amounts stored or must you comply even if you store only a quart or a gallon?

Good question and I will need to find out... The tank is 60 gallons normally, but I have the required double containment tank so my actual is 30 gallons full. I'm sure it wouldn't be an issue except for the fact it is a "Permanent Tank" vs. Portable. Lots of pick-up trucks around here hold more than 30 gallons of fuel... my chevy van holds 34 and my neighbors excursion hold 42 gallons... |
