I think the only practical way to mass produce bioD is from waste vegetable oils and animal fats with the inclusion of non-food crops as well. Just doesn't make sense to make fuel from food crops whether it is bioD or ethanol.
Is anyone still giving away waste veg oil? I doubt it.

No free oil in any quantity. I knew a guy who was doing it a few years back. He said if he figured his time at $10 a hour and the fuel he was using running all over town to get 20 gallons of used oil he was in the hole.

It all looks good in theory, but when you put it on paper it goes south.
