2-Stroke marine engine lubricant; does increase MPG up to 1.5 to 2.5mpg, extra fuel lubricity, smoother, quite sounding Cummins
Been using Amsoil HP 2-Stroke TC-W3 marine lubricant in our 2nd generation Cummins 5.9L ISB for 2 years, with the Bosh VP44 injector pump; which is totally fuel lubricated and does benefit from the added lubricant.
I also use the Wal-Mart "Super-Tec 2-stroke marine lubricant, it's much cheaper than Amsoil, and provides the same results for less cash.
If your diesel tractor is a new higher PSI (CR) "common rail" type injection system then it's really not necessary to add extra lubricant in #2D. Choose a hight quality fuel additive for CR diesels that is a "true" lubricant, example Amsoil's diesel fuel additives, Lucas diesel or gasoline fuel lubricant upper cylinder type.
I would avoid other brands that are high solvent based ie: paint thinner, acetone. What are those brands: Powerservice, MMO; which I have used both in the past, no more.
I add 1/2 quart per 45 gallons of fuel, have added 1 quart before no smoking either
