High pressure oil
My kubota Snowblower say to use SAE 80W/90 AGMA or 5EP oil for the gearbox.
I was at the store without the oil spec and picked up some SAE 80W/90 gear lubricant that says to use where API GL-5, API MT-1, SAE J260, MACJ GO-J, or MIL-PRF-2105E (p2) are recommended. Since I don't know what all of this means, could someone help.
Is there a site on the Internet that talks about this stuff?

Re: High pressure oil
Basically it's calling for a industrial gear oil. They don't mention AGMA spec but these are gear oil spec's used in commercial/industrial equipment. The 5EP is a AGMA viscosity spec and is equivelant to a ISO 220 oil. Generally industrial lubricants do not meet automotive spec's like API spec's. Most can not be used with hypoid gear sets. The gear oil you purchased will work just fine and is actually better than called for.
