how many units of diesel/hour for CUT's

   / how many units of diesel/hour for CUT's #11
I've been averaging 10 hrs per 5 gallons in my 25hp Kioti CK25. That is bush hogging, pushing over and moving trees into piles and digging and moving dirt/sand with the FEL.

On average about .75 per hour. Does depend on what I'm doing. Mowing and light FEL I run about the .75 mark. Heavy FEL or box blading about a little over 1gal/hr. I'll be doing some plowing soon so I'll get an idea then.

I average around 3.5 to 5 gals. per 8-9 hr day tilling, bushhogging, or backhoeing, tilling being the hardest use. Gary

JD 3320 (32.5 hp)
Just put on 14.4 hrs pushing/moving lots snow at 8,500' @ 1400-1500 rpm. Filled up with 6.6 gals.

Doing lots of backhoe'ng at 1000 rpm and get closer to 3 hrs per gallon. :D

My 18.5 hp 4010 has averaged 0.46 gallons/hr over about 350 hours. I record the hours every time I finish a 5 gallon container.

My 12 hp carbureted Gravely tractor ran about the same fuel use, but my numbers weren't that accurate on it.

My 1983 diesel Benz has averaged 29 mpg over 210k miles. Just replaced the timing chain. Mileage and performance seem to have both improved. The stretched chain was retarding the valve timing. It's about 3200 #.

My 1996 Tacoma 4 cyl, 5 spd, 2wd averaged 27.4 mpg over 90k miles I had it. It was 2940 #.

The 1997 VW Cabrio averages 31-34 mpg. it's 2700 #.

Carbureted vehicles (cars and pickups) used to average 30 mpg-ton while diesels averaged 45 mpg-ton. Fuel injected vehicles now seem to run about 27 mpg - 1.5 ton with diesels doing about 30% better.

Well thanks for the data points guys, except for lbrown.
Here's a .csv file using - for delimiter and " to wrap text, and make it slightly readable.

It looks like the 20 to 24 hp burn about .5 gal per hour. Except for Lbrown who gets about a month on 10 gallons.

Let me kick my 2 pennies worth.

Tractor is a New Holland 35A. 3 cylinder diesel engine. Sychronized Shuttle Shift.
When used for bush hogging and pushing out large multiflora rose bushes and small scrub trees with the FEL, about .75 to .85 gallons per hour. When using it for hauling brush and lighter loader duties, it does better, close to .50 to .60 gallons per hour.
