Default Amalie All-Trac 245 Hydraulic Oil

Does anyone have an opinion on this? It says it meets or exceeds specs for kubota UDT and SUDT.

I've been using SUDT, but its a pain to get to the dealer to buy it, whereas the local auto parts place sells Amalie. A pail is $88 or so, so less than SUDT, but no discount - big advantage is that its 4 minutes down the road.

I'm not interested in putting in oil that will hurt my machines, but I am interested in making my life easier if I can...

Too many other random attachments to list (or to own, per my wife) and a really bad tool addiction. But at least I haven't bought a dump truck or bulldozer. Yet.

Wow, that's some lube - it says it'll handle hydraulic systems and the crankcase, too.

If it can do all that stuff, I doubt it would hurt your 'bota!!

Uhh, hydraulic and crankcase with the same oil, oke-doke. Can't say I have ever seen a 10W-20/30. So is it 20 or 30, guess it depends on the phase of the moon. I don't think I would lube my door hinges with this stuff.

I noticed on the Amalie site that it listed that it's UDT compatable but I didn't see where it said SUDT and there is difference between their makeups.
    UDT = straight 20w
    SUDT = multiweight 10W-20

I emailed kubota awhile back asking about their SUDT and this is the reply I recieved.
Thank you for contacting Kubota Tractor. Our Super UDT fluid is unique to the industry. It is a special blend that is different that our standard UDT fluid, and most others in the market today.
The only information we are allowed to release is this.
The SAE viscosity Grade is 10W-20
    ISO Grade is 46
    Flash Point 183

    Thanks again.

Amalie Ultra All-Trac 245 is a new and much
improved universal tractor fluid that has world-wide
credentials. It is designed for use in all kinds of farm
    equipment, off-highway machinery, industrial tractors,
final drives, power take-off units, wet brakes, power
steering units and hydraulic systems. This multifunctional
tractor hydraulic fluid is the one single fluid that
may be used to lubricate all conventional points on
an agricultural or industrial tractor as well as in any
vehicle that has a common sump. New and stateof-
the-art chemistry combined with high quality base
stocks and extremely shear-stabile viscosity modifiers
offer a performance level that agriculture and
industrial users have not seen before. This fluid is
suitable for use in all major OEM equipment including
but not limited to kubota, Oliver, Minneapolis-Moline,
International Harvester, White Farm, John Deere,
    Deutz-Allis Chalmers, Ford-New Holland, J.I. Case
    and Massey Ferguson.

new and state-of-the art additive chemistry combined
with high quality base stocks and extremely shear
stable viscosity modifiers to offer protection and convenience
heretofore only seen in expensive and hard
to find European universal tractor fluids. Amalieç—´ new
Ultra All-Trac 245 offers a performance level greater
than most U.S. agriculture and industrial users have
seen. Now, it is available to Amalie customers every
day. This new and improved fluid offers the convenience
of using one tractor fluid in place of two or
more fluids while maintaining optimum component
    performance and durability.
Some performance levels are limited by viscosity grades. Please consult the

I have used AMALIE oil for over 25 yrs and have NEVER had a problem.in that time, I probably went through 20,000 gals in the plants that I have worked in I have always spec out AMALIE. On the farm and in my garage I used Amalie at one time they got to be a little pricey and did use shell and texaco but when there prices re aligned I went back to them, I think it was due to the wholesaler and not Amalie.
I have been using Amalie in my tractor and other peoples tractors and will continue to do so.

Ken - Have you used the All-Trac 245 product?

Nothing against Amalie - they've been around for quite a while, it just seems unusual to see a single fluid that covers such a wide range of applications.

I have a couple of old pails of the 245 that I have had for sometime my tractor takes udt.
I have not used the ULTRA 245 super udt yet, nothing I have worked on requires it,looking at the cost of the super udt's I would suspect that it is partly synthetic, and would make it more versatile.
AS diesel's change ULSD-better fuel management the oils have changed the old standard was 15w40 now I see them down to 20-30 w and that is why I believe this newer type oil will come into play.

I pulled that off the Amalie web site if you google and you see Amalie 245 it could lead you to someone else's web site that the specs are wrong or out dated that's what I did the first time, when op had mentioned that the oil was expensive I just went to the Amalie website and got it through there,a lot of times I google and end up in a third party website and the info is wrong
