1950 case tractor
Hi

I have a 1950 case VAI tractor. I used to own a 1931 ford model a, which required non detergent 30 weight oil. I have 6 quarts left over. Can I use this in my tractor?

I would not. ND will just increase wear. Give it away or use it in a gear box calling for 30W or as bar oil for your chain saw.

we used to hang people and burn them for witchcraft back before we knew any better either.

there are plenty of better oils out there.

if a machine has an oil filter.. it will benefit from an oil with a detergent. this isn't 1927 :(

Well the SC's like mine don't have a filter. They have a screen over the pick up in the oil pan and that's all. The holes in it are about 1/8inch in size.

for that.. I'd say no detergent oil and not feel too bad about it.

That vai should be filtered though right?
